Theodor Herzl: A fool and a swindler

Theodor Herzl, the theoretician and founder of Zionism wrote in his booklet ‘The Jewish State’ in 1896:

“We should there [in Palestine – by the author] form a portion of a rampart of Europe against Asia, an outpost of civilization [the Christian – by the author] as opposed to barbarism [the Muslim world – by the author]. We should as a neutral State remain in contact with all Europe, which would have to guarantee our existence. … It is true that the Jewish State is conceived as a peculiarly modern structure on unspecified territory. But a State is formed, not by pieces of land, but rather by a number of men united under sovereign rule. … Everything must be systematically settled beforehand. I merely indicate this scheme: our keenest thinkers will combine in elaborating it. … Every valuable invention, which exists now, or lies in the future, must be used. By these means a country can be occupied and a State founded in a manner as yet unknown to history, and with possibilities of success such as never occurred before. … Universal brotherhood is not even a beautiful dream. Antagonism is essential to man’s greatest efforts. But the Jews, once settled in their own State, would probably have no more enemies. As for those who remain behind, since prosperity enfeebles and causes them to diminish, they would soon disappear altogether. I think the Jews will always have sufficient enemies, such as every nation has. But once fixed in their own land, it will no longer be possible for them to scatter all over the world. The diaspora cannot be reborn, unless the civilization of the whole earth should collapse; … The world will be freed by our liberty, enriched by our wealth, magnified by our greatness. And whatever we attempt there to accomplish for our own welfare, will react powerfully and beneficially for the good of humanity.”

Before we proceed further, let me state that the mischief of ‘Zionism’ did not go unnoticed and was understood. Here Adolf Hitler will suffice. He wrote in 1924 in his ‘Mein kampf’:

“[The Jews] have not the slightest intention of building up a Jewish State in Palestine so as to live in it. What they are really aiming at is to establish a central organization for their international swindling and cheating. As a sovereign State, this cannot be controlled by any of the other States. Therefore it can serve as a refuge for swindlers who have been found out and at the same time a high school for the training of other swindlers.”

Is there any doubt that the actions of Israel since 1948 prove that Hitler was right in every way? If for Israel to exist, the Zionists will have to permanently dominate the Middle East, they have

not built this ‘Jewish State in Palestine so as to live in it’. Amazing, Hitler was right about them quarter of a century before founding of Israel. Therefore, collectively Christianity or the West owe to the world especially to the Muslim world to discover this and help change the course accordingly.

What was not possible to state publicly is missing from “The Jewish State”. There is no mention of Arabs-Muslims and what treatment they would get if they resisted. I believe Herzl deliberately downplayed the most important element for a state: Land; by saying, “a State is formed, not by pieces of land, but rather by a number of men united under sovereign rule.” And such ideas, which were to be kept secret, he wrote in his diary. Rabbi Dr. Chaim Simons writes in his book ‘A Historical Survey of Proposals to Transfer Arabs from Palestine 1895 – 1947’:

Herzl’s Diaries

“‘Herzl had kept a diary as a young lawyer in the 1880s, but in May 1895, he started keeping a diary devoted entirely to the Jewish cause.’

“On 12 June 1895, Herzl confided to his diary his programme for the removal of the indigenous non-Jewish population from the Jewish State and the expropriation of private property by the Jewish State.

“In those days, countries consisted of the few rich landowners and the multitude of poor, and Herzl had plans for each of these classes of population. With regard to the landowners, Herzl wrote in his diary, “When we occupy the land, we shall bring immediate benefits to the state that receives us. We must expropriate gently, the private property on the estates assigned to us.” For the remainder of the population, he wrote in his diary on the same day, “We shall try to spirit the penniless population across the border by procuring employment for it in the transit countries whilst denying it any employment in our own country.” We can thus see that the means Herzl envisaged to transfer non-Jews out of the Jewish State, was to deny them sources of livelihood in the Jewish State, and find them employment elsewhere. ….

“Herzl realized that secrecy and discretion were necessary to put these ideas into practice. His diary entry thus continues, “The property-owners will come over to our side. Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly. Let the owners of immovable property believe that they are cheating us, selling us things for more than they are worth. But we are not going to sell them anything back.” …

“In early July 1972, Braham [a man who had written about Herzl in his book “Jews Don’t Hate”] went to Jews’ College Library in London to look up Herzl’s diary, in particular the reference for 12 June 1895 – the date that Herzl had proposed transfer. He informed Stewart [One of Herzl’s biographers, Desmond Stewart] that the impression that he got from these diary entries was that “Herzl was simply setting down a formula in the abstract for setting up a state in a territory inhabited by ‘natives’,” and that his attitude towards non-Europeans was the typical 19th century European attitude with Herzl being a typical example. In a paper presented by Braham to an Adult Jewish Study Circle in New South Wales, Australia in May 1974, he brought further evidence of this attitude, by mentioning a case in 1837, just a generation prior to Herzl, where “the Australian responsible for the Myall Creek murders had pleaded in court that they did not know it was against the law to shoot aborigines.” …

“Later in his letter, Braham considered that Herzl’s “scheme to buy the land at excessive prices and in secrecy” was “the classic ploy of property developers and businesses whose stock in trade is to pay what appears to be a handsome price for a piece of land without disclosing its true potential. My conclusion is that Herzl was a coloniser, certainly; there is no doubt he intended to create a state over the heads of the indigenous population – but by stealth rather than force of arms.”…

“Unlike his books, Herzl’s diaries were not intended for publication during his lifetime. Soon after his death, the question of publishing his diaries arose.

“David Wolffsohn, Herzl’s successor as President of the World Zionist Organization, quoted Max Nordau [a prominent Zionist leader], who, in emphatically opposing their publication, said, “You will ruin Herzl’s name if you publish his diaries. Whoever reads them is bound to believe that he was a fool and a swindler.”
